this is kinda a weird question (and maybe a weirder-place to ask it), but here goes...
could i get a known-working combination (or three) of browser and operating-system for the facebook-version of this program ?
let me explain... today (22-jun) i noticed the 3.4.2 release on one of my android phones (from 16-jun, actually, i think)... no biggie, updated... but this update reminded me of an issue i had had awhile ago... in particular, i had tried the facebook-version - but was unsuccessful at getting beyond the demo-startup screens...
last month i tried to log into facebook (using friends-acct on his computer) and look at how the game worked (unity-engine, etc) in a browser... he has an old-macintosh... specifically, it can only run snow-leopard or lion (i think he is on 10.6.x) which causes all kinds of browser-issues... safari and firefox are ancient, but semi-working for his uses (no games on facebook for him)...
when his computer did not work, i thought i would try my computer... my computer is also semi-old; but at least it runs win10 and is up-to-date on browsers, afaict... i was able to log into facebook... i found that the game needed the unity-engine installed (iirc) for firefox... eventually i was able to successfully launch the game and start the first couple of screens for the tutorial... at the end of the tutorial i got an un-passable error... i looked it up (the error on yalls faq or somewhere) and tried most of the solutions recommended... mainly, that meant reboot - uninstall/reinstall (altho i think i had trouble figuring out where the unity-engine-thing was installed; so maybe i didnt succeed there)...
thus - for me, a current-firefox on a current-win10 pc would not get past the tutorial... i have lots of other/older computers - in particular, even linux flavors too (i think one is an ubuntu-15.10 or somesuch) that i could try... but i had sorta answered my question so i gave up... my question had to do with whether the game "looked" the same on a pc... it seems to... i was not able to completely-check things like the left-side-menu and so forth; but i had given up...
ok - since im writing a novel here; i should mention that my win-10 pc does have some problems with both internet-explorer AND the edge-browsers... in particular, they (in slightly different ways and at different times) cause my video-driver to crash - yes, black-screens or full blue-screens-of-death... otoh, both firefox and chrome work fine so i have not cared... btw - the ubuntu-pc has not ever crashed and gets its updates semi-automagically whenever i turn it on... i use firefox there...
i also use a chrome-os chromebook - but afaict, chrome does not support the unity-engine and so the facebook-games would not work here...
bottom-line; my question again - which operating systems (assume win-10 and ubuntu-15 or -16 is best) combined with which browsers (assume firefox, but maybe it requires edge or internet-explorer?) can i use to play the facebook-version of the game ?
i know - this is a NOVEL... i am sorry... this probably should be a support-type question to trg (or facebook), truly - but it is not too critical... if you (or another reader of this thread) could list their known-working versions - i would appreciate it immensely...
tia and thanx-for-reading, harold.... :-)
