  • Hello ThatDWLguy. From July 12-23, Felicityk, who usually updates Daily UNIT Missions will be on vacation.

Also, from July 20-23 I will also be om vacation, meaning that I most likely won't also be able to update it as well.

As you are one of the users who edited recently, I came here to ask you, if you have the disponibility, to update the page during this period. Thank you.

    • During that time (July 19th to August 6th) I'm on vacation, too ;-).

(And also since I have basically no interest in the Daily UNIT Missions I'm not sure if I would update them even if would be able to, but for a few days I think I would try to do so.)

    • Oh, that's a bummer. I too have very little interest in them (will update the days I can just so they don't get incomplete)

In fact, there's been a while since I actually played DWL. Mostly, I just get the new characters and that's it. I still haven't got anyone to rank 6 ever since The Return of Doctor Mysterio (and not even they are there yet)

      Anyway, thanks for the response

    • Well it's not like I care about them either, but I make note of them for the good of the wiki.

It does look like I'll have wifi access throughout my trip, so I will at least capture the Jul 20-23 levels and update the wiki when I get home.

  • So, from my experience at another wiki, we generally make infoboxes alignments a bit different than from here.

Here, when we reach the end of a parameter, we put one "space" between the last letter of the word and the "=", like this:

    |is Expert? = true
    |doctor/companion = doctor

However, over there, we add enough spaces, so every "=" is below the other on the infobox, like this:

    |is Expert? = true
    |doctor/companion = doctor

Once the page is published, it makes no difference at all (visually). However, since most of us here create pages through the code, it can be a bit of a time saver (instead of moving all the way to the where the other "=" is, we can just hit the "down" key on the keyboard, or move the mouse a bit below.

As I know you're usually concerd about pages getting too big, there's a good news on this: the pages don't get much bigger than they already are. I made these changes to A Mad Man with a Box. You can see that these changes only added 310 bytes to the page (less than 10% of the total size). Do you think this changes are good, or should we just go back to the way it was?

This change would affect all Category:Allies, Category:Enemies and Category:Levels pages, and I'd make sure to go through all of them to make the changes (although, I have to admit, kind of slowly, because it will affect almost every page on the wiki)

    • I can't recall that I ever really was concerned of pages getting too big (I have the feeling you might mean User:Alpha1812).

But anyway to the topic, I personally don't really see much benefit and would prefer the "one space method" myself (mostly because the other is imo a bit harder to read: the distance from key to value is further apart).

(Not sure if that is really a concern, but it also makes changes to the key more troublesome, because you have to adjust spaces accordingly, especially when the longest key changes.)

And I'm skeptical that it really will save much time: because of length of the value compared to differences in key-length, most often when you go up/down from one line to the next you will probably be somewhere in the value field, no matter if you align the "=". (And if you start with an empty template, then you will most often be at the end of line anyway.)

If you and others are in favor for it though, I wouldn't really object, as long as we are being consistent (I would be in favor, if that is indeed a semi-global wiki-standard, though I have no idea whether that is the case or not - I'm not sure if one other wiki is enough to declare it so ;-) )

    • Oh, indeed I was thinking of User:Alpha1812 (it's been so long since we've had an active forum/thread around here, so I mixed up who-said-what). Anyway, thanks for your input.

  • I guess I am still confused about character stats. I posted what I thought were Young Grant's stats after upgrading him to Rank 2, but would those be his Level 11 stats rather than Level 10? And if so, why do we report Level 10, 20, 30 and not Level 11, 21, 31? Why do we report both Level 40 and 41?

Weirdly, the stats you added on the screenshot are the ones I get for level 13

    • Oops, I had taken a screenshot at 11 and another one at 13, and referred to the wrong one.

  • I already updated the landing page as per the user's request. I don't understand how to edit Talk:DWLegacy_Wiki, though, which is why I did not respond directly.

    • my bad - I even checked the main page edits, but forgot that it basically only aggregates content from different pages... :/

  • The Convert Teams page needs to be updated: the red team is now John Jones, Jackson Lake+, and Nardole, and the blue team is Brigadier+, Spoonhead 11th Doctor, and Signature Ace.  You could include the highest level 60 ATK and highest percentage boost ally for each team, and even include the highest ATK final slot character for each team(the green team has 2 slots for highest ATK allies if you use the Second Doctor(+) as the booster).

  • Hey I have been experimenting and thought of an extension to your convert team article

Duo colour 3 companion combo, it works the same way as normal convert teams except that the 3 companions can convert an entire board to same colour but for 2 different colours, For example:

    Whomobile, Handles, Robin Hood

If you use the abilities from left to right, you get a full board of yellow but if you go from right to left, you get a full board of red.

    Another example:

Spoonhead 11th Doctor, Stormegadon, Tobias Zed

Left to right and you get full black while right to left and you get full blue

What do you think of the idea and do you think your table can handle looking into these kind of teams?

    • Mh, I wanted switch to tabview for all teams, but tabview somehow doesn't work with sortable tables (the sortable table on User:ThatDWLguy/Sandbox2 isn't sortable inside the tab on User:ThatDWLguy/Sandbox).

It might still be worth to use subpages and transclude the content to make the code easier to read, but unless someone has a workaround for the sortable table, I think we shouldn't use tabview.

        Loading editor
    • Mh. I have no clue why, but now sortable seem to work with tabview... (but since I reduced the number of teams, tabview isn't really necessary anymore).

To the five color team: I made an article draft*, but I'm not sure whether it is really useful for a page (and I'm not sure about the title, currently I'm thinking of "Five color attack teams"). One team that would probably be useful is a team consisting only of 100% drops, but I kinda don't want to include the information into my data.

      Thoughts?

*The article imo shouldn't be directly copied/moved to the main namespace, since it uses a template located in my user space.

  • Hi, can You please correct and add enemies and waves to three new fan area level that I have added? (16, 28 and 29 levels). I have added basics there. Or can you ask someone, who can do this? Because my english is bad, and I don't want to do mistakes... Thanks :)

      Loading editor
    • Thanks for starting (and doing the basic stuff) for those Fan Area levels. But I will probably not do much about them (maybe/probably clean up the "NEED TO BE ADDED" thing, because it imo shouldn't be there), since I don't value level information that highly and will most likely not try to get the needed information to make an enemy overview.

The best course of action if you think an article needs improvement is to use {{improve}} or {{stub}} (in this case imo {{improve}} is more appropriate). That way those articles are automatically listed in Category:Needs Improvement or Category:Article stubs and other editors can see that they are problematic. Especially such information can easily be tracked through Category:Site maintenance.

    • Oh, thanks! Co I will be doing more basics ;) Have time for that. Ok, and ass Needs Improvement category. Awesome. Thanks.

  • Hey if you think the template is ready, just introduce it, there is nothing left for me to look at and this is probably the best time to introduce it as we don't have many new content at the moment.
