So, from my experience at another wiki, we generally make infoboxes alignments a bit different than from here.
Here, when we reach the end of a parameter, we put one "space" between the last letter of the word and the "=", like this:
|is Expert? = true
|doctor/companion = doctor
However, over there, we add enough spaces, so every "=" is below the other on the infobox, like this:
|is Expert? = true
|doctor/companion = doctor
Once the page is published, it makes no difference at all (visually). However, since most of us here create pages through the code, it can be a bit of a time saver (instead of moving all the way to the where the other "=" is, we can just hit the "down" key on the keyboard, or move the mouse a bit below.
As you warned me and User:Felicityk to keep an eye on pages getting too big, I also though abot this. And the good news is: the pages don't get much bigger than they already are. I made these changes to A Mad Man with a Box. You can see that these changes only added 310 bytes to the page (less than 10% of the total size). Do you think this changes are good, or should we just go back to the way it was?
This change would affect all Category:Allies, Category:Enemies and Category:Levels pages, and I'd make sure to go through all of them to make the changes (although, I have to admit, kind of slowly, because it will affect almost every page on the wiki)
I'm not sure how to edit it (in terms of coding) because I haven't checked it yet. But if you look at the top of the right there is a "contribute" button. If you click it, the last option is going to be "Edit Wiki Navigattion". I believe that's were the navigation bar can be changed, but, again, I haven't really looked into it yet.
I know it's impolite to ask, but would you consider making me and OncominStorm12th admins? We do the bulk of the editing these days, and I also think it would give us clout with a member who likes to change things that aren't necessarily in the best interest of the wiki.
I've not done this so far because I'm uncertain if this would break the spoiler policy,but here's one question. Suppose TRG announces a character and uploads an image of it (such as the pixelated costumes for Bigger on The Inside Chapter 1). Would it be an infringement of the spoiler policy to add the datamined versions of these files before they are added to the storyline as enemies/drops?
Straightly speaking, the spoilers policy doesn't cover this but my approach has always been better safe than sorry. So i usually let someone else upload the image from announcements while I wait for the stuff to come ingame.
Let me give you a suggestion, if you are datamining, stay away from TRG announcement, it's better that way as it's easier keep track of stuff in game instead of announcements (especially when there are so many news outlets that you need to be aware of). Otherwise it becomes very easy to upload something unanounced.
Alternatively cordinate with someone else, let them tell you what to upload, that way there's no way to confuse whether something is announced.
I think it will be fine. Usually, when I get home after a patch, Hfleton has already uploaded the needed images for the weekly patch.
Also, I save the files that should not be uploaded yet with a "(DONT UPLOAD YET)" at the end of the name, and on a place in my computer I usually don't use much. Also, I try do double (or triple) check images before uploading them (making it almost impossible for me to upload something by mistake)
Judging from what you uploaded so far, I am going to guess your problem is that some level seems to have multiple images and they layered on top of 1 another. Unfortunately I am not avaialble through this weekend so the best time I can do is Sun night/ Mon morning between 1:30 amand 2:00 am BST.
In that case, we probably don't need to discuss them on chat, save them as gif is the only way to retain transparency but you will need another programe such as photoshop to merge them. However there will still be issues and I am afraid I won't be much help beyond that. You might want to talk with helfton about this, you may also want to try testing with the great intelligence as that's the only transparent character I am aware of. Hey I double check the settings, and like last time, I didn't find a satisfying answer to the problem, you can change those colors in on the settings of the software and save with transparency using gif format but saving with transparency has some lingering problems, discuss it with Helfton and see if the two of you can come up with any ideas but I recommend you finish uploadin what you can first. However I afraid I won't be able to provide you with more help on this subject.
Sorry to bug you, but as one of the few people who can datamine images, I hope you can help. I've been posting on this thread, but after a week no one has yet upoloaded the Special Weapons Dalek, and now we need the Ghosts from Under the Lake as well.
Is there a better way I can get people's attention on this? We are likely to need weekly datamining until Season 9 is finished broadcasting.
Something has gone wrong in the rare/100% distinction of drops on ally pages. The parameter being used is:
|is 100% drop? = true/false
I don't know what the parameter is supposed to be (I suspect someone was messing around with it for the rare/100% drops in the free trial of Sonic Adventure). Both true and false values for the parameter are returning the same text: "is a true drop" rather than a rare drop or 100% drop.
ops my bad, i haven't had time to double check my edits recently, so yea thanks for the fix.
EDIT: all fixed, I got slopy with my if programming logic lately, thanks for the help
EDIT2: Anyway I will just quickly explain what I changed, the main thing I added is the both value to is ifeq: 100% drop?, the reason I added it was the addition of free trial/premium version, the line was specificly designed for jack's sonic blaster and scond doctor sonic screwdriver, instead of displaying them as 2 different drop levels, I modifyied it so it can display them both 100% and rare drop for the same level
