The following order should be used when categorizing characters:
- The Doctor / Companion? (Category:The Doctor or Category:Companions)
- Species / Race? (see Category:Allies by race)
- Which season? (see Category:Allies by season)
- Which primary color? (see Category:Allies by color)
- Which secondary color? (see Category:Allies by color)
- Which character type? (see Category:Allies by type)
- Which character power? (see Category:Allies by power)
- Any outfits? (Category:Characters with outfits)
- Associated to which Doctor? (see Category:Allies by associated Doctor)
- Experience track? (see Category:Companions by experience track)
- Historical? (Category:Historical characters)
- Expert character? (Category:Expert allies)
Reminder: According to the spoilers policy a character that is part of Category:Upcoming doesn't belong to any of the above mentioned categories (although usually an upcoming character won't have an article of its own until it's officially added to the game).
